You do not need an account. Most of your recovery data stays on your phone.
When you talk to the AI coach, the information needed to answer is securely sent to our service providers. We do not sell your data, run ads, or use third-party tracking.
You can erase local data and the coach memory linked to your device from inside the app.
Who is responsible
SOS Coach is built and operated by David Ting under the Future Portal Studio name. For privacy questions or requests, contact futureportal.studio@gmail.com.
Information stored on your device
The following information is stored in the app's local storage. We cannot view it remotely:
- Habits you choose to work on, streaks, check-ins, and progress
- SOS session records, including urge level, selected emotion, conversation, and outcome
- Journal entries and locally saved coach summaries
- Daily Focus tasks, EXP, levels, and achievements
- Your chosen display name, avatar emoji, and preferences such as reduced motion
Deleting the app removes this local information from that device.
The anonymous device ID
Because SOS Coach does not require an account, the app creates a random device ID when it first needs to use the AI coach. It is not derived from your hardware identifier, advertising ID, phone number, or email address.
The ID lets the coach connect a short memory note to the same app installation between sessions. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Information sent when you use the AI coach
Only when you use SOS Coach's AI conversations, the app may send:
- Your messages and recent messages needed to keep the current conversation coherent
- The selected habit, urge level, emotion, and session outcome
- Limited progress context, such as your current streak and level
- Your random device ID
This information is used to generate a relevant reply and maintain coach continuity. Future Portal Studio does not intentionally store full conversation transcripts in its server database.
What is kept on our server
The server keeps one short coach memory note, generally under 120 words, associated with the random device ID. It may summarize recurring triggers, approaches that helped, or the tone you respond to. It helps the coach avoid starting from zero in every session.
The server does not keep your complete journal, local streak history, achievement history, or a database copy of full conversations.
Service providers
We use service providers only where needed to operate the app:
- Supabase hosts the app's server functions and the short coach memory note in the United States.
- Anthropic processes AI conversation content to generate coach replies. Its handling is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Netlify hosts this website and processes information submitted through the support form.
Information is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Support requests
If you email us or submit the support form, we receive the email address and message you provide. We use them only to respond, investigate the request, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Support submissions are retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
- We do not use third-party analytics or cross-app tracking.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location.
- We do not read Apple Health or other device health databases.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Profile → Delete all my data. This deletes SOS Coach data stored on the device and requests deletion of the server-side coach memory note. The app tells you if the server request cannot be completed.
Deleting the app removes local data but may not remove the server-side memory note. For help deleting that note, contact futureportal.studio@gmail.com. We may ask for the random device ID shown in the app so we can locate the note.
Children
SOS Coach is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Not medical care
SOS Coach is a self-help tool, not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a replacement for a doctor, therapist, addiction specialist, or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Sudden withdrawal from alcohol or some substances can be medically dangerous; seek qualified medical advice.
Changes and contact
We will update this page and its date if our data practices change. Significant changes may also be shown inside the app.
