1. Accepting these terms
These Terms of Use apply to the SOS Coach mobile app and related website, operated by David Ting under the Future Portal Studio name. By downloading, accessing, or using SOS Coach, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use SOS Coach.
2. What SOS Coach is
SOS Coach is a self-help and habit-support tool. It offers a timed pause, AI conversation, journaling, progress tracking, small suggested actions, and reflection after difficult moments.
Features may change while the product is in development. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features to improve safety, reliability, or the product experience.
3. Not medical care or emergency support
SOS Coach does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, or crisis intervention. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Sudden withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines, or some other substances can be medically dangerous. Consult a qualified medical professional before making changes that could create withdrawal risk.
4. AI limitations
AI-generated replies may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, inappropriate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. The app may misunderstand what you write. You are responsible for evaluating suggestions before acting on them.
Never rely on SOS Coach as the sole basis for decisions involving health, safety, finances, legal matters, substance withdrawal, or the safety of another person.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use SOS Coach only in accordance with applicable laws.
- Use your own judgment before following any suggestion.
- Avoid entering information you do not want processed by an AI service.
- Not misuse the service to harm, threaten, exploit, harass, or impersonate another person.
- Not interfere with, reverse engineer, overload, or attempt unauthorized access to the service.
6. Eligibility
SOS Coach is not intended for children under 16. If local law requires parental or guardian consent for you to use an online service, you may use SOS Coach only with that valid consent.
7. Your content and privacy
You keep ownership of the text and information you enter. You give us the limited permission needed to process it, through our service providers, to operate the AI coach, provide support, protect the service, and comply with law.
How information is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.
8. Our content and license
SOS Coach, including its interface, branding, written content, software, and original assets, is owned by or licensed to Future Portal Studio. Subject to these terms, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep SOS Coach available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Internet access, AI providers, hosting services, and app platforms can fail or change. Local fallback messages may be used when the AI service is unavailable.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, SOS Coach is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties that it will achieve a particular outcome, prevent a slip, or meet every user's needs.
To the extent permitted by law, Future Portal Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use SOS Coach. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
11. Ending use
You may stop using SOS Coach at any time and delete your data through the app. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security threats, abuse, or legal requirements.
12. App Store terms
If you download SOS Coach through Apple's App Store, Apple's applicable terms and standard licensed application end user license agreement also apply. If these terms conflict with mandatory App Store terms, the mandatory App Store terms control.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply, subject to applicable law.
